As part of an initiative aimed at automating all transit cargo-related operations, GACA has conducted an agreement with Elm to launch a transit air cargo service through Washaj e-portal. The agreement was signed on the sidelines of the Future Aviation Forum 2024, held under the patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, at the King Abdulaziz International Conference Center in Riyadh. The 3-days event, which was organized by GACA, witnessed the presence of more than 5,000 experts and leaders in the aviation sector from over 100 countries worldwide.
This cooperation is set to enhance the quality of service processes while boosting the volume of air shipments to Saudi Arabia. The initiative aligns with the National Aviation Strategy's goal of achieving 4.5 million tons of air freight.
Elm’s partnership with GACA represents a significant step towards more collaboration endeavors. Leveraging its advanced expertise, Elm will enable GACA and its service beneficiaries to electronically track transit shipments during various stages, ensuring secure and accurate monitoring.
The project will focus on developing transit shipments services on "Washaj" portal, allowing GACA and its beneficiaries to electronically track transit shipments. Through this service, users will be able to record information regarding each transit shipment and connect it with private sector systems and relevant parties. The platform will support shipments' tracking, monitoring, and processing, utilizing data to advance the airfreight sector.
The partnership between GACA and Elm will enhance the quality of services and improve operational efficiency, contributing to the achievement of the goals outlined in the National Aviation Strategy for transit cargo.
